There is something about a chili cook-off that brings out the best in a community. The friendly competition. The bold claims about secret ingredients. The kids running between booths, tasting samples and casting votes with the seriousness of seasoned food critics. It is pure, unfiltered community spirit.

In February 2026, Cafe Smile Studio was proud to be one of the sponsors of the annual Chili Cook-Off at McAuliffe Elementary School in Highland Village. And yes, the chili was outstanding.

More Than a Sponsorship

When we heard that McAuliffe Elementary was organizing their chili cook-off, getting involved was an easy decision. This is our neighborhood school. The families who attend McAuliffe are the same families we see in our studio. Their kids are the ones who show us their wiggly teeth during checkups and tell us about their soccer games while we clean their molars.

Supporting a school fundraiser is not about putting our name on a banner (though we did have our booth set up with our signature navy tent). It is about being present. It is about showing up on a Wednesday evening, rolling up our sleeves, and being part of something that matters to the people around us.

The Scene

The school grounds were packed. Teams set up their crockpots and slow cookers, each station more creative than the last. The Flower Mound Police Department brought their own entry. Local businesses lined the perimeter with booths and activities. Kids bounced between the bounce houses and the chili stations. Parents caught up with neighbors they had not seen since the last school event.

Our team set up our booth near the main walkway, complete with our retractable banner featuring Dr. Neha Gupta and information about the studio. We handed out toothbrushes, chatted with families, and answered questions about everything from teeth whitening to Invisalign. But mostly, we just enjoyed being there. Being part of the evening. Being neighbors, not just a dental practice down the road.
